to complement this background, while living in cairo, egypt, for three-plus years, i assisted with anthropological excavations in giza, excavating the tomb of khentkawes, the workmen s village and the workmen s cemetery near the giza pyramids.  for this work, i set grids, surveyed the archeological sites, mapped and drew archeological remains and archived information.  in 1999, i was asked to return the following year to continue assisting.
