As a Spanish Coordinator for the nationwide, non-profit organization Retrouvaille, we focused on  assisting couples renew their marriages, especially couples who are on the verge of divorce or separation. I regularly operated as a team member or team leader when working on a variety of projects. The projects I worked upon always included a project component requiring team building and cooperation. Team projects were completed in a face-to-face or virtual setting.  As team members, we focused on supporting one another and reviewing action plans and ensured those plans remained in sync with the established standards. As a result, the number of voters increased noticeably.

 

As a Volunteer with  Austin Retrouvaille Spanish program, I have developed a good partnership with other communities that have the same program.  Additionally, I partnered with other community-base organizations like Alcoholics Anonymous.  I also organize meetings with counselors and Priests informing them of the program objectives and asked them recommend and refer the program to potential candidates. I also nurtured partnerships with faith-based groups such as Marriage Encounter or Christian Family Movement.  This led to strong cooperation and support, and increased participation in the Retrouvaille program.

Of course, I ensure that all of my documentation is grammatically correct, spelling error free, and reviewed for both content and format to avoid any unnecessary miscommunication. I make sure that my written words say exactly what I mean and have the ability to quickly analyze, organize, write, and revise any document. I use expressive words, keep sentences and paragraphs short, and keep thoughts simple. I format documents so that they are inviting to look at and easy to read. I use various techniques that involve the reader and create the feeling of personal communication. These factors alone contribute significantly to the influence of my written communications.


Throughout my career, it has remained to be an important function to communicate effectively other than in writing. I have consistently demonstrated communication skills through experiences such as technical presentations, public speaking, or serving as a spokesperson. The ability to communicate effectively in more than written format is vital to the success of a person working in my capacity. I consistently seek ways to enhance my ability to communicate verbally. Specifically, I completed several presentations on the Retrouvaille program  where the focus was to create, develop, and deliver speeches to a variety of attendees and create strong interest in attending. I ensure that when speaking to others, I always take the time to understand the intended recipient s ideas and words prior to communicating my ideas in any format. I learned how to choose the most appropriate mode for communicating my messages and use effective language to express information clearly. As a result, I communicate in a persuasive manner when trying to convince others of the validity of my points. It is with great tact that I handle the issues of customers offering concern and identifying the underlying issues before speaking.

 

I would also deliver 20 to 30 minute speeches on the program and what is to be expected, and I allow the attendees to ask follow up questions. When communicating with other individuals, I offer information in a clear and concise manner that does not leave room for ambiguity. My speaking voice is clear and I pronounce words accurately as to allow for complete understanding by all those listening. I communicate the objectives, priorities, and deadlines for projects or assignments and assist subordinates with unusual situations, problems, or studies that do not have clear precedents. I plan and carry out the successive steps of technical projects and assignments, and handle problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices, with little or no supervision.
