Illegal Arms Group All Source Intelligence Analyst

 

Assigned to serve as Senior Intelligence Officer for Multi-Discipline and General Military Intelligence supporting United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM, SCJ2) and tasked with oversight of research targeted with producing all-source intelligence products and resources.  Specific focus is on illegal armed groups as well as the Colombian government.  As such, utilize a myriad of intelligence methods, including, among others, indications and warnings, targeting, imagery, counterintelligence, counter-terrorism foreign disclosure and threat analysis for the Colombia functional area.  The essential thrust of these and other measures is to monitor and analyze political, military and/or economics trends that could serve as a threat to the interests of the United States.  The responsibilities of this position require development of close working relationship networks with interagency and Colombian counterparts, as well as other partner nation analysts, in conducting various intelligence/counterintelligence activities regarding drug-trafficking organizations.

To aid this effort, interact directly with the U.S. Defense Attach Office, the Embassy Intelligence Fusion Cell (EIFC) and the U.S. Military Group (USMILGP), Colombia.  Provide force protection analysis to the Embassy Military Group Commander, supporting USMILGP development of regulations maintaining safety for U.S. personnel.  As liaison at the EIFC, provide analytical and information collection input for High Value Target (HVT) Analysts.  Also serve as a mentor for junior HVT analytical staff members, providing guidance on mission objectives and requirements.

 

Possess comprehensive familiarity with all sources of information, including knowledge of library holdings, photographs, statistics, analytical methodology, compilation of facts and data, and the ability to disseminate same.  For this assignment, fluency in the Spanish language and personal knowledge of the Colombian government, its military and various illegal armed groups have served immeasurably in meeting mission directives.

 

Utilize various databases to achieve mission goals, including Collections Requirement Database (CRDB), WEBTAS to create target analysis and packages and identify JAG lines of communications, and PESO to search for daily reports on targets of interest and stay current on assessments disseminated to the intelligence community.  Additionally, author and deliver presentation to senior leadership and distinguished visitors, and participate regularly in seminars and other working groups.

All Source Production Analyst/Senior Consultant

 

Retained to serve as an All Source Analyst in support of the U.S. Army Intelligence Command (INSCOM), U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), U.S. Army South G2, and the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade (MIB) Analysis and Control Element (ACE).   In this role, conducted long-term analysis of intelligence targets in USSOUTHCOM s area of responsibility, which included providing All Source Production Section (ASPS) Team Chief with intelligence to be utilized at daily briefings for the 470th MIB Commander.  This responsibility required the maintenance of a comprehensive order of battle database, which allowed access to information regarding operational trends among High Value Targets (HVT).

In this original assignment as a member of the Colombia/Long Term Analysis Team, operating within the 470th MI BDE Analysis and Control Element (ACE), was charged with the production of an array of source products to be disseminated to U.S. Southern Command, the U.S. Embassy Bogot and other intelligence entities, and with providing all-source analytical support for Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH), Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and various Colombian law enforcement agencies.  Utilized a number of databases for production and distribution of intelligence, including ICE, DoDIIS Multi Media Message Service, WEBTAS, ASAS-Lite, and Analysis Notebook.

 

Implemented analysis derived from various SIGINT, COMINT, IMINT and HUMINT input to work closely with Colombian personnel in producing analyses supporting activities directed against HVT and assisting with force protection.  Served on regular rotations with the Embassy Intelligence Fusion Center (EIFC) High Value Target team and as liaison between the EIFC and the 470th MI BDE.
